I'm going to start by declaring success on my first attempt at creating a video presentation for my capstone site. Even though it's just a "rough cut" draft, I managed to incorporate music, my voice over, images, AND get my script down to the 90 second maximum length. In all honesty though, that 90 second clip took me almost three hours to create. Knowing that it is going to receive feedback/critiquing puts me in the shoes of one of my students, for I put so much work into it that I don't want to have to alter/change/modify a single thing! I know it's not perfect, but with so much else being asked of me at the very end of this program, I've adopted a "good enough" attitude.
Some of the frustrations I experienced creating my video were with getting my images to match the voice over content in terms of timing, and having to go back and painstakingly elongate each clip. Then, the real nightmare occurred! After I finished, I realized I had not yet added transitions between the images, and when I did that, they cut into the length of my images, so I had to then go back and readjust the timing of it all. I also could not get my screen to look the way Roger's did when he walked us through WeVideo's editing process. For example, I never could find how to adjust the volume of both the music and my voice on the same screen.
A few things I'd perhaps like to change going into a final draft of this are the quality/resolution of the images and adding text to the photo of my students and me. I want to make sure my audience knows which person I am in the picture. :)
